[November 27, 2006]

The Indiana Sheep Association will hold its the 2007 Sheep Symposium and Annual ISA Meeting on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Noblesville, Indiana. The Symposium Committee is in the midst of finalizing the program, but it's shaping up to be a great day! The variety of topics will appeal to everyone from the novice to the expert shepherd. Sessions include a cooking and cuts session, Sheep 101, management strategies, shearing the show lamb as well as discussions about vaccination strategies and forages and feeding. Other sessions will include an update panel from the Indiana Board of Animal Health, USDA and American Lamb Board as well as crafts, nutritional information and a "Sheep and Goat Help Desk"
which will have a panel of experts fielding questions from attendees.

In conjunction with the symposium, the Indiana Junior Sheep Association will provide a workshop for youth aged 8 to 24 years. Many of the activities at this workshop will be hands-on, addressing many aspects of the 4-H sheep project and sheep production in general.

The symposium will begin at 10 a.m. and will include lunch and an evening banquet as well as commercial exhibitors from across Indiana. For more information about volunteer opportunities, commercial exhibit registration or to register for the Symposium, contact ISA Executive Secretary, Natalie Haynes at executive@indianasheep.com or phone 317/402-3628.
