David Trotter of Indiana and Laurie Hubbard of Pennsylvania have been appointed to the Lamb Promotion, Research and Information Board by Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns. Both will serve three-year terms beginning January 2006.
The 13-member board is composed of six producers, three feeders, one seedstock producer and three first-handlers. Trotter represents producers with less than 100 ovine animals, while Hubbard will represent seedstock producers. Trotter is a past executive board member of the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) and is past-president of the Indiana Sheep Association. Hubbard currently serves as the treasurer of the Pennsylvania Sheep and Wool Growers Association and is on the board of directors for the ASI.
Re-appointed to the board were John Oswalt of Michigan, representing producers; Joseph Harper of West Virginia, representing feeders; and William Brennan of South Dakota, representing first-handlers. "I look forward to working with the two new board members and am excited to see Bill, Joe and John continuing on the board," said American Lamb Board (ALB) Chairman Spence Rule. "I also want to thank retiring board members Joanne Evans and Nick Forrest, whose hard work and dedication has been instrumental in designing the strong foundation we have built that will be the key to our continued success."
